Story of Hope

MY Name is Paramjit kaur, 40years old. . I have attended that camp, after the general check-up I seen a one documentary video in which explanation was given regarding breast cancer. Before this camp, I had no any idea regarding the sign and symptoms of breast cancer and how to detect a breast cancer with the help of breast self examination. In early 2017 I found a lump on my breast, which was sometimes painful. I did not pay attention to it at first, but it kept hurting so I knew something was wrong. Then finally, I decided to go to doctor and discussed my problem with doctors about my lump in breast, doctor advised me for the confirmation of breast cancer, you should have to undergone some test. For instance, need for the mammography test .This test is free of cost available on-site at the camp. Within 15 days I received a call from office (world cancer care) to go for FNAC test and after this test the doctor diagnosed me that I was suffering from breast cancer. Although treatment followed immediately, I still hoped that the diagnosis was a mistake. I went to other hospitals and other doctors to seek other opinions. Unfortunately, all were unanimous in their opinions. It was breast cancer in the preliminary stage. Then I have taken treatment from hospital ‘HOMI BHABHA’ at Sangrur govt. hospital. I was advised to undergo chemotherapy after an operation. Treatment involves removing the lump from the breast. After this cancer experience, I finally realized how important it was to be healthy. When I had cancer, I felt the loving care of people around me, I remembered my entire family tried very hard to hold my back their own sorrow and prayed with me and seriously after the surgery I was getting well .So a Lots of thanks to all world cancer team for a good guidance and saved my life.
