What we screen for
World Cancer Care mobile clinical units bring cancer screening and essential health checks to the community. Every beneficiary is registered with a unique identification number for follow-up.
Mammography
Mammography is a specialised X-ray of the breast used to detect tumours that are too small to feel. Digital mammography at our camps helps find breast cancer at an early stage, when treatment is more successful and less aggressive.
Pap Smear
A Pap smear collects cells from the cervix to look for early changes that could lead to cervical cancer. Regular Pap testing is one of the most effective ways to prevent advanced cervical disease.
Cervical Cancer Screening
Cervical cancer screening combines clinical assessment with Pap smear and, where available, HPV-related checks. Finding abnormal cells early allows timely treatment before cancer develops or spreads.
PSA Screening
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) is a blood test that helps assess prostate health in men. Raised PSA levels do not always mean cancer, but they guide further examination and early detection of prostate disease.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening examines the mouth, tongue, gums and related tissues for ulcers, white or red patches and other warning signs. It is especially important where tobacco and betel nut use raise risk.
Throat Cancer Screening
Throat cancer screening looks for abnormalities in the throat and related pathways that may cause hoarseness, difficulty swallowing or lasting discomfort. Early review improves the chance of simpler treatment.
Blood Cancer Tests
Blood cancer tests use laboratory analysis of blood samples to look for abnormal cell patterns linked to leukaemia and related disorders. Early laboratory clues help guide further specialist evaluation.
Laboratory Services
Our mobile units provide on-site laboratory support for screening camps — including sample collection and essential blood tests that help clinicians identify risk and plan follow-up care.
Bone Density Test (BMD)
A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test measures bone strength and helps detect osteopenia or osteoporosis. Stronger bones support healthier ageing and reduce fracture risk.
Eye Examination
Eye examinations at our camps check vision and eye health for the community. Early detection of vision problems helps people stay safe, independent and productive in daily life.
Free Spectacles
Eligible beneficiaries may receive free spectacles after eye examination. Clear vision improves quality of life, learning and work — especially for people who cannot easily afford corrective glasses.
General Medical Consultation
Doctors at camps provide general medical consultation for common health concerns, review screening findings and advise next steps — including referral when further care is needed.
Free Medicines
Where available, camps provide free essential medicines to support immediate treatment of common conditions identified during screening and consultation.
Nutritional Supplements
Nutritional supplements may be provided to help address deficiencies and support general health. Good nutrition strengthens the body's ability to recover and stay well.
Blood Pressure Check-up
Blood pressure checks identify hypertension that often has no early symptoms. Controlling blood pressure reduces risk of heart disease, stroke and other serious complications.
Diabetes Screening
Diabetes screening measures blood sugar to find undiagnosed diabetes or prediabetes. Early lifestyle advice and medical care can prevent severe long-term complications.
